Board Game Themed Costume Party?
Basically, the Halloween party that I go to each year always has a theme.
This years theme is Board Games/Video Games.
I would like to stay away from Video Games if possible, but I am looking for a more “original” idea.
I have already gone through the pre made costumes (Twister, Tic Tac Toe board, Checker board etc.), and haven’t really found anything overly interesting.
I was thinking possibly a Clue character, but I think that there would be a large possibility that someone else will do the same.
Any ideas?
Get a musket, a jacket with big buttons and a helmet with a plume – go as a playing piece from Risk.
Get or make an old-fashioned men’s bathing suit – the stripey one-piece kind – and go as the Diving Man from Mousetrap.
Get a black leotard, cover it with cotton balls and carry around a small log – be a Sheep from Settlers of Cataan that someone’s trading a Wood for (as per the old Settlers gag, “Anyone got a Wood for a Sheep?”).
Get a Navy hat and a blue jacket, put anchor symbols on the collar. Make a ring-style fake life preserver and paint “USS Battleship” on it. Tatter your clothes a bit, put some soot on your face, walk around with the life preserver – you survived when they “Sank your Battleship”.
