Rubber duck in fish tank?
I know my betta loves to play with floating things, especially ones she can chase or push around, and as far as I know, rubber ducks usually float.
I have a collection of rubberducks, ranging from small glow-in-the-dark to medium sized costume ducks, to the normal larger ducks. None have ever been used in a bathtub, they’ve all been for collections/decorations sake only.
so I was wondering if it’ll be ok to put a few of the smaller ones in the tank, or would rubber be unsafe in a fish tank?
Also, since the very small ones glow, would whatever chemical that makes them do so effect the fish as well?
Also, would it be possible to add a sort of string/chain to the bottom of the ducks so she can drag them around?
Or maybe add a string attached to a weight to keep them about half-way to the bottom of the tank instead of at the surface?
some of those little ones are novelty toys not ment to be in the water, so they paint may rub off. Iff its safe for babies, its prble safe for the fish, but then it would likely be too big for the fish to play with. try a pin pong ball instead. remember not to block easy access to the water surface for the betta.
