i am looking for patterns that i can print out for childrens fancy dress costumes /minibeasts/bugs or insects
My daughter had a Mini Beast party on her last day at nursery. This is what I did (enjoyed doing it too): Took a pair of fairy wings from a dressing up costume and covered with pink tissue paper; used glitter glue to make some swirly whirly patterns on the tissue paper and stuck on some shiny shapes; scrunched up some black tissue paper to stick in the middle of the wings to look like a body;attached elastic so that she could put them over her t-shirt. I bought a face mask from Claires accessories in the shape of a butterfly (copied the swirls from that onto the wings); also covered an alice band with black tissue paper and attached some pipecleaners to the top with pom poms on the end to look like antennae. She loved her butterfly outfit and just wore ot with shorts and a plain t-shirt as it was the middle of summer. If you wanted to look really convincing, you could try a black all in one to look like the body of the butterfly. I had great fun making my daughters, hope you do too!
