Adult’s Halloween Costume – Ariel from the little mermaid?
My friends want to do a “Little Mermaid” theme for Halloween and I’ve been designated as Ariel. I have no sewing abilities…any idea on how to make this costume come to life?
First, get some shiny blue spandex from a material store, enough to fit around like a sarong, but cut off the extra. Then sew it up the back to fit your hips and legs as tightly as you can while you can still walk. I don’t sew much either, but I’ve done this before. It’s an easy stitch by hand. Get some light blue tulle and attach it to the bottom, either by sewing or with safety pins. Costume stores have the seashell bras for pretty cheap, but you could also make the bra from the spandex. Definitely get a long red wig and there you go!
